This free week-long webinar series is designed to support parents, educators, school staff, and counsellors with practical strategies for navigating change, stress, and disrupted learning environments.

Key Concepts / Goals

•       Understanding grief and the grief cycle in response to sudden changes.
•       Recognising different types of loss:

o   Loss of routines and normal school life
o   Loss of friends leaving the country
o   Loss of freedom and predictability

•       Normalising emotional reactions (sadness, confusion, frustration).
•       Helping children acknowledge and express grief.
•       Practical coping strategies:

o   Memory-making and symbolic activities (letters, drawings, memory boxes).
o   Validating emotions while encouraging gradual adjustment.

•       Supporting children to move forward with new routines and social connections.
