This free week-long webinar series is designed to support parents, educators, school staff, and counsellors with practical strategies for navigating change, stress, and disrupted learning environments.
Across the week we’ll explore:
- Trauma-informed responses
- Supporting children through uncertainty
- Emotional validation and resilience
- Practical strategies for crisis situations
- Maintaining wellbeing and purpose during disruption

Key Focus: Understanding the emotional impact of disruption and loss during the crisis.
Key Concepts / Goals
- Understanding grief and the grief cycle in response to sudden changes.
- Recognising different types of loss:
o Loss of routines and normal school life
o Loss of friends leaving the country
o Loss of freedom and predictability
- Normalising emotional reactions (sadness, confusion, frustration).
- Helping children acknowledge and express grief.
- Practical coping strategies:
o Memory-making and symbolic activities (letters, drawings, memory boxes).
o Validating emotions while encouraging gradual adjustment.
- Supporting children to move forward with new routines and social connections.
