Tales Toolkit

Empowering Every Child to Become a Storyteller.

An award-winning, child-led resources and training package that develops language, literacy, and social skills through the magic of open-ended storytelling.

Giving Every Child a Voice

Tales Toolkit was created by an  experienced teacher to bridge the gap in early years communication and literacy.

The toolkit provides a consistent framework for children to create their own stories by using four simple, universal symbols:

Designed for international and private school settings, Tales Toolkit moves away from rigid planning and instead follows the child’s lead, using whatever is to hand – from a favourite toy to a found object in the garden – to spark imagination.

Tales Toolkit is used extensively by schools in the UK, and has been funded by the Department of Education (DfE).

It is recognized for improving early literacy and SEN/EAL support, making it eligible for Pupil Premium and Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) in England.
