A simple and effective reading programme.
For parents and teachers of struggling students
Dcode demystifies reading for struggling students.
When the ability to read happens after a struggle, it is magical.
Teachers and parents struggle to make progress with dyslexic and struggling students because they can’t find an effective reading programme that is simple to teach and fun to engage with.
Dcode combines the world-renowned Orton-Gillingham structured literacy approach with colour-coded phonics.
It’s an engaging and interactive reading programme to turn struggling students into confident readers.
With a step-by-step reading programme that’s easy to teach, you will experience:
Whether you’re a teacher or a parent, you’ve probably tried lots of reading programmes but made little progress, which is soul-destroying when a child’s basic literacy is at stake.
As a teacher, it’s disheartening when dyslexia and literacy issues in your school continue to grow year on year.
And if you’re a parent, you worry every day because your child’s confidence and happiness is suffering.
We believe that parents and teachers deserve a simple, effective, and engaging way to teach struggling readers.

A simple structured literacy reading system combined with colour-coded phonics.
Interactive, colourful lessons that are engaging for both student and teacher.

She believes passionately that each child deserves the right to read. She educates teachers via in-person and online forums in how to teach through structured literacy.
She is the creator of the structured literacy programme “Dcode”. Dcode was designed for parents use. It is currently in well over 1/3 of Irish schools and is being used successfully by parents to teach their own children to read and spell.
Dcode is informed by the unique teaching style that Mary developed over the course of her career.
Having achieved consistent success with thousands of struggling readers under her tuition, Mary packaged her methodology into a reading programme that is:
so that every child can become a happy and confident reader.
“I understand how desperate you feel when you’re responsible for a child who is struggling to read and nothing you do is making a difference.”
“That is why I created Dcode. Based on the Orton-Gillingham structured literacy approach, and informed by decades of success teaching dyslexic students, Dcode is a unique reading programme that has worked for me over and over again. Professionals I have worked with agree.”
The words we speak are made up of individual sounds called phonemes. Dcode simplifies it.
We link sounds to letters to programme the brain to read in this way.
Finally, we recognise whole words by sight as we see sequences of letters in our minds.
Dcode uses colour to help the dyslexic brain remember the long vowel sounds and also to recognise soft C and G in words.
Dcode lessons are easy to teach and fun to engage with so that students remain engaged and active.
With each Dcode module, the strugglling student overxcomes a particular reading challenge so they are motivated to keep learning.
Invest in the Dcode reading programme one book at a time.
Watch a short instructional video on how to take your student through each lesson.
And celebaret as your strugglilng reader overcomes a new challenge at each step.
Together, we believe we can make an even greater impact and help unlock the joy of reading for children
everywhere."
