Diploma Special Education Needs
I have undertaken a range of professional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), shadow teaching and inclusive education, which has strengthened my ability to support students with diverse learning, behavioural, social and developmental needs. My training in ABA has developed my understanding of positive behaviour support, reinforcement strategies, behaviour observation and the use of structured approaches to encourage positive outcomes. My SEN training has strengthened my knowledge of individualised learning, differentiation, inclusion, student wellbeing and adapting support to meet individual needs. I have also completed training in Child Safeguarding, Preventing Bullying, CPR/AED and Shadow Teaching, equipping me with the knowledge and practical skills to promote safe, supportive and inclusive learning environments. I am committed to continuous professional development and applying evidence-informed strategies to help every student participate, develop confidence, build independence and reach their full potential.

Learning Support Assistant / Inclusion Learning Support
In my role, I provide tailored support based on each student’s individual learning and behavioural needs. I work one-to-one, in small groups and within the whole-class setting, using differentiated activities, visual supports, prompting, modelling, repetition and positive reinforcement to help students access learning and develop greater independence. I support literacy, numeracy and phonics development, as well as communication, social skills, emotional regulation and positive behaviour. When using ABA-informed strategies, I observe student behaviour, identify triggers and patterns, reinforce positive behaviours and use consistent strategies to encourage appropriate responses and participation. I work closely with class teachers and the Inclusion/SEN team to follow individual support plans, monitor progress, record observations and adjust strategies where needed. I also encourage students to develop confidence, self-regulation and independence rather than becoming dependent on adult support.
