About Ami
Ami is a British mum of two girls aged 5 and 7 and has lived in Dubai for two years. She has a Diploma in childcare and education level 3 and with that she set out to be a private nanny in central London for 15 years, working with children of varying abilities aged 0-15. Her day-to-day involved supporting the children’s’ holistic development and proxy parenting when needed. Throughout the many years as a private sol charge nanny she also coached parents through various aspects of the parenting journey, primarily emotional development and dealing with separation anxiety (both parents and children). She went on to qualify as a non-medical maternity nurse, specialising in the care of new mothers and babies post- natal. She used this qualification to work at night with new babies, helping parents establish a sound night-time routine and positive sleep associations for the baby. During her time working nights she would also support the families remotely in the day by setting out daytime routines and advising on other aspects of parenting. This led to helping many parents with their older siblings, coaching them through transitions to create a balance in the home. She then took an interest in the link between sleep and behaviour, with that she qualified as a sleep consultant to help everyone get a better night sleep in order to function to the best of their ability in the day. When she moved to Dubai, she decided to combine the two, continuing with the sleep consulting but also moving in the direction of parent coaching and hopefully using her experience to help parents find balance in their home.
