Education and Credentials
Paul has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from City University London, a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Biomechanics from Loughborough University, and has certifications in Further and Adult Education and Teaching.
He holds the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification from ISC2 (International Information System Security Certification Consortium) and the CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) Certification from ISACA (the Information Systems Audit and Control Association). He is also a member of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI).
Paul has developed and delivered a range of IT awareness and skills development courses (including delivery and assessment of OCR/RSA certification courses). He has also taught/coached both children and adults, including at university level, for more than 30 years and has acted as a judge and undertaken competence-based assessments for the activity.
He brings a wide range of experience from various business sectors to the team, as well as a massive supply of patience and resilience!
Overview
Paul trained as a mechanical engineer and has experience teaching/coaching sporting activities to children and adults. He has expertise in delivering technical training for implementation and use of technology solutions in a range of settings.
He can be found around the training centre fixing things, as well as providing guidance and advice – nothing would ever get done if not for Paul!
Experience
Paul has experience of public and private sector and has worked at various levels of government in the UK and the Middle East, including work in UAE, Qatar and KSA.
He has worked at local authority level in the UK, providing ed-tech solutions and network connectivity for schools and representing the authority on the Regional Broadband Consortium. As part of his local authority role Paul has developed and implemented solutions for both new-build and refurbishment projects for schools, and contributed to the specification and selection of an authority-wide learning platform. He has delivered online safety training to parents and staff and has taken part in safeguarding investigations alongside police colleagues.
Paul worked for a national UK charity, contributing to the digitisation of the organisations knowledge and processes and using his engineering skills to oversee the refurbishment or several regional offices. He programme managed the development of a new, low energy office building, with many “green” credentials and has several years’ experience of working in the health care sector, including leading and delivery of projects and programmes at national level.
Paul regularly speaks at conferences and participates in panel discussions on various topics.
