Exciting Clicker Updates (Crick Software)

Hello All

I am excited to bring you an update on some very exciting news from Crick

We are pleased that Clicker 8 has won this year’s BETT Award for Special Educational Needs Solutions: Clicker 8 is a Bett Award winner! | Crick Software.

New version of Clicker 8 – we are about to release a new version of Clicker 8 which makes file sharing with Clicker Writer much easier – you can specify a shared cloud drive as the ‘home’ folder in the Clicker Explorer. This is also used for sharing class/user settings between computers. Cloud Storage in Clicker and DocsPlus | Crick Software

Clicker 8 Italian – We have updated this to improve the Picturize functionality. There is also a new Italian voice available for download: Italian Adult Voice | Crick Software

Clicker 8 French – We are working on a French version of Clicker 8 which will have a French interface as well speech / prediction / pictures and spell checking.

Clicker Apps

1. Clicker Writer is now available as a Progressive Web App for Chromebooks and the iPad version has been updated too: Clicker ESD | Crick Software. This new version is much faster to download amongst other refinements.
2. Clicker Books is our next Clicker App. This is free of charge for existing Clicker Subscribers and it does not use an extra license – if someone already has Clicker Writer on (say) an iPad, they can install Clicker Books without using another license.
3. Clicker Writer Italian is scheduled for release early in 2022.
4. Clicker Writer Arabic is scheduled for development in the first half of 2022.

We have run a series of public webinars on Clicker, including using Clicker to support learners with dyslexia and using Clicker with the ‘Talk for Writing’ approach – please let me know if you’d like to watch these videos.

DocsPlus

DocsPlus has now been released as an updated product – DocsPlus Universal

Here are the main differences:

1. Universal licensing so licenses cover DocsPlus on computers as well as on iPads/Chromebooks.
2. 3-Year subscriptions – all updates included under the subscription.
3. Redesign and features upgrade
   1. New interface
   2. DocsPlus Analytics: DocsPlus – Assess student progress | Crick Software
   3. Enhanced Exam Mode including an option for reading scientific and mathematical abbreviations
